About the Game

Catastrophic Danger is a two-person, student-made game project. The aim of the game is to teach the importance of preparation and the methods and techniques that go into it. It also highlights the important but also dangerous jobs that both paid and volunteer firefighters do.

By playing the game, we hoped for players to develop the initiative to also seek out relevant information so they can understanding not only what professionals do but also what they can do to keep themselves and others safe and prepared.​

From audience testing, we found key information related to what users already know about this topic of bushfire safety. Firstly, a majority of participants said that they were unsure of where to find relevant information for their area.

Once again, in our survey, it revealed that roughly 50% of people knows what the danger rating system is but does not know what the levels are or what they specifically mean. Above shows the ratings which signify the danger with each needing different levels of action and preparedness taken.
